MT. AGAD-AGAD: Personal Experiences

My personal experience at Mount Agad-Agad was incredibly adventurous. It was my first-ever climb, and me and my cousin joined a group of joggers without any proper equipment. As we ascended, we encountered a group of well-prepared trekkers dressed in full gear. At that moment, I wasn't sure if I could make it, as I mistakenly thought we had reached one of the stations. However, it turned out to be just a concrete road leading to Mount Agad-Agad.

With limited water, we pressed on, determined not to waste what we had. Upon reaching the first station, we found no stairs—just rocks, mud, grass, and trees. Fortunately, there were no fees required at that time (it was still a pandemic). As we continued, I couldn't help but notice the beauty of the surroundings. The greenery, the sounds of birds and insects, and the fresh air filled me with a sense of wonder and appreciation.

By the time we reached the third station, the view was spectacular. We were greeted with a panoramic view of the city below, the sea, and the clear blue sky. It was a sight that took my breath away and made all the effort feel worthwhile.

However, our journey was far from over. At the fourth station, exhaustion began to take its place. My cousin was struggling, and we decided to rest for about 20 minutes. Despite the fatigue, we encouraged each other to keep going, knowing that the final reward waiting for us at the peak of Mt. Agad-Agad.

As we resumed our climb, I felt a renewed sense of determination. The path was challenging, but we pushed through, supporting one another every step of the way. We reached the last station, and the view that greeted us was beyond anything I could have imagined.

After enjoying the view from the top of Mount Agad-Agad, we decided to descend to the Enchanted Forest. We encountered another group of trekkers who were experts on the trail, so we decided to follow them. The path was difficult, with harsh and steep trails. Along the way, we came across a river with clean water. We tested it, and it was very refreshing.

As we continued, we lost sight of the experienced trekkers because we decided to rest and ensure that everyone was okay. We found ourselves off the trail until we came across a group of children heading to school. We followed them and eventually discovered the Secret Falls at Puga-an and the Barangay Hall itself.
